When NOT to use ProofStack
Our case pages are required to state what does not transfer. This page applies the same discipline to ourselves.
You want thousands of cases to browse
Go to Starter Story. We audit one case per week; we will never match their breadth. Our bet is depth and verifiability.
You want motivating founder stories
We will disappoint you. The most important part of every case here is "this path may not hold for you" — cognitively useful, emotionally the opposite of inspiration.
You need audit-grade financials
We verify public claims: linked to official disclosures or interviews, graded and dated. That is not an independent audit, and an A grade describes the source type only. For due diligence, hire an accountant.
You study big-company strategy
The library covers small software products — solo makers to small teams, mostly self-funded. How Netflix prices is not in here.
You need real-time numbers
Every claim carries its observation date, and companies change after they disclose. We would rather hand you "$1M ARR, disclosed 2022" with the date attached than pretend to know today's figure. For live metrics, read the company's own open page.
If none of that describes you — you are inside a concrete decision and want grounds you can check — start with the pricing benchmarks or describe your problem directly.
